decadence at decades

Who loves Saturday? I do! Today was a really chill Saturday - let me expand.

1. I woke up late.

2. Got dressed - in my newly cut-off jeans! Big star jeans make fantastic cut-offs...

almost as good as
tobias' cut-offs

3. Did my laundry. And, might I add, who needs laundry detergent when you have baking soda? Apparently, baking soda is all you need... scentless and the power of the Arm! And Hammer!

4. Went to Decades in Salt Lake City. Decades is an A+++++ (said "eh plus plus, plus plus plus") vintage consignment store. The store is magnificently organized, with sizes ranging from -1 (you know how tiny people back then were) to 20. I never have a hard time finding more than I want. The clothes are beautiful and well kept, accessories fashionable and in abundance. If you have not gone to Decades, you must do so soon! But don't bring the kids... the management takes really good care of their product and expect you to too.

5. Ate at Stan's. Stan's Diner is a Provo staple. Ever wonder where fry sauce was created? Right at Stan's! And the current operators (an Indian man named Ash and his family) are amazingly kind. They have also expanded the menu to include vegetarian, greek, and Indian food options. I still prefer the bacon cheeseburger (shakes half off when you get a combo!), but to each his own.

6. Finished my homework. Done for the weekend! I have a wonderful girl in my group who compiled the paper and I just edited it and was done. Fantastico!

What a life, eh?

new to me

I went shopping around for a couple different things today. First, I'm always looking for cute stuff for my bro's wedding. Second, I was Mother's Day shopping (and everybody knows how hard that is!). After walking through several stores in University Mall (Provo, UT), I decided to head to this place I found online called Cherrylane. Can I just say that it is my new favorite store? It has the cutest things! Charms, jewelry, bags, lotions, perfume, clothes, galoshes, all things that are good.

Then I went to ship off my Mother's day present at FedEx (I don't know what it is about the location on University Parkway, but it's like they take happy pills or something... they are always so nice that I always go back) and decided to grab some cupcakes for me and my roommate. The cupcake place next door to the FedEx is called the Cocoa Bean and I heard it was delicious from the management at my apartment - they were right. The Cocoa Bean cupcakes were so delicious! My favorites were the carrot cake and the ultimate brownie (it's like a brownie/cupcake with marshmallow and peanut butter frosting. Yum!).

P.s. Did you know that Tai Pan Trading in University Mall has purses, clothes, and jewelry? And they are cute! Go check it out.

clothes in the closet

So, I live in a tiny apartment with a very tiny closet space. Lucky Magazine (fave mag ever) just put out a how-to for your closet. Since I have been living by these methods for the past several years, I know that these methods work - about time somebody wrote the keys to closet success down!

my brother's best man

My brother, Beau, is getting married in less than 22 days. So, here I am with a fantastic suit from Banana Republic, without quite knowing what jewelry to wear with it. The wedding colors are orange, yellow, and green; you would think those colors are easy to find with summer quickly approaching. Well, let me tell you, that is false - apparently the trend this season is nude. These are the only necklaces I could find that really struck my fancy, but they are so beautiful and so Etsy.

welcome to chipped & charli

Ever since I was little, I loved all things fashion and decorating. I wore big, pretty dresses with giant sleeves and peter pan collars. I dressed up as Disney® princesses, real princesses... heck, if you just said anything with the word "princess," I was there! I designed my own room and filled it with all things girl and all things fun. I idolized my mother and my sister for their extremely fantastic taste fashion and decorating. As I grew up, I learned to love fashion and decorating too. I guess I'm just like the saying goes: a chip off the old tree.
